We’ve been hearing for a while that Samsung is working on its own smartwatch, which will supposedly be shown off in September at IFA. What we haven’t heard is what the Gear will actually bring to the table in terms of features and specs – until today. Apparently sources working at a Texas-based Samsung warehouse have now brought new details about the Galaxy Gear.
Supposedly the device will feature a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, an accelerometer, 2.5-inch OLED touchscreen with 320 x 320 resolution, 4MP camera, Bluetooth 4 and Android Jelly Bean. It will also offer speakers within its strap. As for storage? You will have the choice between 6 and 8GB. The device also is claimed to have a battery life of about 10 hours, which really isn’t all that great considering this is a watch, but nor is it that surprising.
Keep in mind that Samsung has yet to confirm the Galaxy Gear, and so you should take all of this with a grain of salt. Based on the specs mentioned above, are you looking forward to the Galaxy Gear or do you feel that smartwatches like this are unnecessary? Share your thoughts below.
